Sight Seeing

It is truly the unforgotten coast. There is so much here to see that can not be seen just on land. Come enjoy the many backwaters of the Apalachicola River and see many different wildlife, birds, trees, and alligators.

Experience a nature walk to the Cape St. George Island Lighthouse on Little St. George Island. The lighthouse was built in 1852 and has recently undergone a successful construction project to keep it from toppling into the Gulf waters.

You will walk through a nature trail and along the beach on the Gulf of Mexico where you can pick up shells until you reach the lighthouse. The walk is approximately 45 minutes long.

You can also enjoy nature on the beautiful St. Vincent Island which is a National Wildlife Refuge. There you can encounter many different wild animals such as sambar deer, raccoons and hogs.
